Laura Novella Wood Burrell

BARNARDSVILLE—Laura Novella Wood Burrell, age 98, died at her home on June 20, 2011. A native of Buncombe County, she was the daughter of the late Lonnie C. and Mary Ada Chapman Wood. She was married to the late J. Glenn Burrell who died in 1995. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Elmer R. Wood; and sisters, Ruth Anne Styles and Jo Alice Browning. She enjoyed sewing, gardening and making beautiful quilts. Mrs. Burrell was a second mom to her caregivers, niece June Hope McGraw, her husband Winfred and their son Brian, all of Barnardsville. She is also survived by a nephew, Danny Wood of Meridian, Miss. Following family graveside services at West Memorial Park, Mrs. Burrell was buried beside her beloved husband of 65 years.
