CANDLER—Lawrence "Larry" Lynch, age 76, of 145 Meadowbrook Acres died Wednesday, March 14, 2012. Mr. Lynch was born January 27, 1936, in Chicago, Ill, and was a resident of Hendersonville for a number of years before moving to Buncombe County in 1978. He was a self-employed entrepreneur and the world's greatest storyteller. Larry served as a sergeant in the US Marine Corps and a lieutenant for the Winston-Salem Fire Department. Mr. Lynch was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Florence Rowe Lynch; and brother, Tom Lynch. Surviving are his wife of 34 years, Freda Banks Lynch; daughters, Lori Stacey of Marion, Va., Patricia Sabo of Chilhowie, Va., and Missie Sharpe of Forest City; son, John Lynch of Rutherfordton; stepchildren, Connie Hannah and husband Mike, Jackie Putnam and husband Jon, all of Candler; brother, Jack Lynch and wife Bonnie of Hendersonville; grandchildren, Dana, Kenzie, Jessie, Angela, Evan, and Little John; step grandchildren, Cory, Charlie, Micheala, Chance, and Colton; four great grandchildren; and his lifetime friend, Keith Moss. His funeral service will be held at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 17, 2012, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Steve Smith officiating and Tom Huggins giving the eulogy. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 12:30 to 2:30 p.m., Saturday, prior to the funeral at the funeral home. At other times the family will be at the residence.
