LAWRENCE ALBERT MASON WOODFIN - Lawrence Albert Mason 69, went home to be with the Lord he served and loved with his whole heart on Wednesday, November 20, 2013. He was born in Alexander on September 16, 1944 to the late Lawrence and Oma Massey Mason. Also preceding him in death was his twin brother, James Mason. A veteran of the US Navy he served during the Vietnam Era. He was a member of Coles Cove Baptist Church. He is survived by his loving wife of 25 years Billie Hensley Mason, his daughter Laura Earwood and husband Jeff, son Larry Mason, stepdaughter Melissa Shook and husband Mark, 3 granddaughters, 3 grandsons and 1 great grandson. He is also survived by brothers, Gerald and Leslie Mason and sister, Wilma Kinder. His funeral service will be held at 12:00 noon, Tuesday, November 26, 2013 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Don Burchette officiating. Burial will be at 2:00 p.m., in Western Carolina State Veterans Cemetery, with military honors by Buncombe County Veterans Council Volunteer Memorial Team. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday at the funeral home.
