L.C. "Rocky" Ragsdale

L.C “Rocky” Ragsdale, age 71, of Weaverville died Wednesday, September 7, 2022.

Rocky was born February 22, 1951, in Dalton, Georgia. He was a resident of Buncombe County for the past 36 years. He was employed with his father-in-law at C. Greene Trucking Company.

Rocky was the son of the late L.P. and Genevieve Vineyard Ragsdale. He was preceded in death by his brother, Charles Terry Ragsdale; his daughter, Carrie McCarty; and grandson, Dakota Ragsdale.

He is survived by his wife of 36 years, Susie Greene Ragsdale; a daughter, Kristy Davis (Brent); two sons, Brian Ragsdale (Katie) and Rocky Dewayne Ragsdale; two sisters, Gejuan Dill (Mickey), and Jacqueline Cooper; sister—in-law, Sandra Allen (David); brother-in-law, Mike Greene (Carol); three grandchildren, Bryan Davis, Owen Ragsdale, Kaila Baggett; great-grandchild, Erin Baggett, and special friends, Jack Baldwin, Butch Mullinax and his special dog, Olive. 

Funeral services for Mr. Ragsdale will be held 2:30 p.m., Sunday, September 11 in the chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville with Reverend Brian Hanrahan officiating. Burial will follow in Oak Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery, Marshall. The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. on Sunday prior to the funeral.
