Leland A. Spencer

WEAVERVILLE – Leland “Lee” A. Spencer, age 81 of Weaverville died Thursday, July 14, 2016. Lee was born March 5, 1935 in Lewis County, NY and was a resident of Buncombe County for many years. He retired from the State of NC as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor. A member of Westwood Baptist Church, he loved to study the bible. He was preceded in death by his father, Arthur Spencer and his mother and step-father, Rose LaSure Spencer Baker and Richard Baker. Surviving are his wife, Joyce Whatley Spencer; daughters, Penny Spencer Briggs and husband Steven of Weaverville and Sharon Spencer DiGrazia and husband Darrell of Seminole, FL; son, David Spencer and two grandchildren Spencer and Danielle DiGrazia. His memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. Monday, July 18, 2016 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Reverends Richard Baird and G.D. Phillips officiating.
