Linda Hughes

ASHEVILLE –

Linda C. Hughes, 88,  passed away on Sunday, October 31, 2021 and has joined her beloved husband and daughter in the arms of our Lord. She is preceded in death by her husband Joseph Hughes and daughter Joleen Hughes.

Linda is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Katherine and David Van Brocklin; grandchildren, Timothy Corbett, William Corbett, Lauren Van Brocklin and Daniel Van Brocklin; a great grandson, Austin Kerly; brothers and sisters-in-law, Michael and Leyda Capovani and Edward and Deanna Capovani; niece Monica Capovani, and 7 other beloved nieces and nephews. 

Linda was born in New York and moved to Florida in her teenage years. She loved nature and her dream was to relocate to North Carolina. Her dream finally came true six years ago, and she spent her time enjoying the mountain lifestyle. Linda was an amazing woman who raised a daughter born with a terminal illness, worked full time in her love of library service and indulged her passion for crafts. She had an infectious laugh and loved nothing more than being with her family on adventures. The NC mountains ended up being her final home and she was in love with the serenity and peace of the area, somewhere she loved to visit and enjoy throughout her life. Linda was an amazing mom, sister, grandmother, wife, aunt and loving companion to her husband of 50 years.
