Linda Kay Rice Franklin

ALEXANDER—Linda Kay Rice Franklin, age 60, of Lone Pine Rd., died Thursday, February 2, 2012. Linda was born May 31, 1951 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a devoted member of Grandview Baptist Church. She is the daughter of Marie Silver Rice of Weaverville and the late Clifford Rice. In addition to her father she was preceded in death by her sister, Darlene Rice. A loving wife, mother and daughter, she devoted herself to her family. Surviving in addition to her mother are her husband of 42 years, Tony Franklin; sons, Scott and Jason Franklin both of Alexander; sisters, Patsy Edwards of Weaverville and Tina Laughridge of Marion and brothers, James, Tim and Stacey Rice all of Weaverville. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, February 5, 2012 in Grandview Baptist Church with Rev. Kenneth Huffman and Rev. Doug Huffman officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends from 5-7 pm on Saturday, February 4th at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
