ASHEVILLE – Lisena Maria Della-Bianca Moss, age 53, of Asheville, passed away Tuesday, December 15, 2020, after a brief bout with cancer. She died in her place of peace, her home, surrounded by loved ones.
Lisena was a native of Asheville and a daughter to the late Lino and Maria Della-Bianca. She graduated from Asheville High School and attended Bauder College in Atlanta. She married Johnny Moss in 1999. Lisena was a woman of great faith. She attended Basilica of St. Lawrence Catholic Church and was a Secular Franciscan at the Fraternity of St. Clare where she was the Formation Director. Every October she organized the Our Lady of Fatima rosary rally at the Basilica. She was also a consecrated Bride of the Most Blessed Trinity. She loved attending Holy Mass and spent many hours at the Basilica with Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament Chapel. She loved her travels to Austria with her mother, hiking in the mountains, strolling on the beach and spending time at home with her family and friends. She found great pleasure in the animals that seemed to surround her. They recognized her great kindness and goodness.
Lisena will be missed forever by her husband, Johnny; her son, Alex; sisters, Johanna Brooks of Eureka, MT, Elizabeth Allen of Woodbridge, VA, Michele Akin of Southern Pines, NC; and brother, Brian Della-Biana of Asheville. She was a loving aunt to her nieces, Lisena and Jesse, and nephews, Wyatt, Robert and Joseph.
A memorial service will be held at a later date.
