LOIS ELIZABETH BANKS RIDDLE WEAVERVILLE - Lois Elizabeth Banks Riddle, age 93, of 30 Riddle Road, died Friday, October 17, 2014. Mrs. Riddle was born November 3, 1920 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a former owner and operator of Riddle's Exxon and was a member of Salem United Methodist Church. She was a daughter of the late Zeke and Tennie Burleson Banks and wife of the late Jeter Garfield Riddle who died in 2002. She was also preceded in death by her son, Johnny Riddle; sisters, Linda Banks, and Gladys Ledford; and a brother, Thomas E. Banks. Surviving are her daughter-in-law, Melba Riddle; sisters, Marie Dardugno, Anna Luther, Louise Bryan, and Betty Preston; brothers, Lynn Banks, Jack Banks, and Riley Banks; grandchildren, Ronnie Riddle, Melanie Davis and her husband John and Melina Chevalier and her husband Andre; great grandchildren, Elizabeth Davis, Walker Davis, Natasha Myers, Laythe Riddle and Asia Riddle; great great grandchildren, Laci, Maddox, Elizabeth, and Grayce. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Monday, October 20, 2014, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Dr. John Blalock and Rev. Wendell Brittain officiating. Interment will follow at West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service. Flowers are welcome or those desiring to make a memorial contribution are encouraged to consider Salem United Methodist Church, 9 Salem Church Road, Weaverville, NC 28787.
