BARNARDSVILLE—Lois M. Hale, age 95, a Handmaiden of Christ, was called home by her Lord and Savior Thursday, September 20, 2012.
Miss Hale was born November 21, 1916, in Buncombe County to the late Lee Aldridge Hale and Florence Ingle Hale. Lois spent her life as a caregiver, including time at Barnardsville School as the school nurse. Her last days were spent at Emerald Ridge Carecenter where she was lovingly cared for.
Surviving are nephew, Michael Hale and wife Susan and their son, Brendan and wife Cheryl; and sister-in-law, Wanda Hale, all of Hopkins, S.C.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, September 23, 2012, in Paint Fork Freewill Baptist Church of which she was a member, with the Revs. Arnold Revis and Earl Bailey officiating. Burial will be in Paint Fork Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
