WEAVERVILLE / DALLAS, GA– Lorraine Blankenship, age 89, of Dallas, GA formerly of Weaverville, died Wednesday, November 7, 2018 in Austell, GA.
Lorraine was born January 3, 1929 in Buncombe County to the late Claude Eugene and Thelma Jarvis Blankenship. Her work took her to Dallas Georgia where she resided for the past 36 years, but her heart remained in Weaverville. She was a long time member of Clark’s Chapel United Methodist Church. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, “Hub” Blankenship.
Surviving are her daughters, Teri Martin of Dallas, GA, and Eva Cangemi and husband Joe of Winter Park, FL; son, Ron Ballard and wife Valeria of Lebanon, TN; brother, Bud Blankenship and wife Gail of Cincinnati, OH; sister-in-law, Alva Blankenship of Spartanburg, SC; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, November 13, 2018 in Clark’s Chapel United Methodist Church. Reverend Marjory Kiess will officiate. Burial will follow in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery, Weaverville.
The family will receive friends 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. prior to the service at the church.
