LORRAINE HARRON WILSON
ALEXANDER - Lorraine Harron Wilson, age 79, of 613 Fletcher Martin Road passed away peacefully at home surrounded by her family on Wednesday, January 21, 2015.
Lorraine was born April 18, 1935 in Buncombe County to the late Leonard Jackson Harron and Beulah Deaver Harron Kelly. She was a former employee and unofficial historian of the Biltmore Industries, now known as Grovewood Gallery, where for years she enlightened visitors with stories of old. In addition to her parents Lorraine was also preceded in death by daughter, Marie Wilson Mackey and sister, Juanita Harron Richardson.
Surviving are her husband of 58 years James Gilbert Wilson; grandson, Joseph D. Mackey and wife Courtney of Weaverville; great grandson, Brayden, who was the light of her life and gave her "special kisses"; sister-in-law, Mary Ann Long and husband Paul of Winston Salem; special cousin, Tommy Deaver of Candler along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Her graveside service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Saturday, January 24, 2015, in West Memorial Park, 40 Roberts Street, Weaverville, with Reverend Howard Self officiating.
The family will receive friends 1:15 to 2:15 p.m. Saturday, prior to the service at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
At other times, the family will be at the residence.
