LOUISE DEBRUHL FRANKLIN
ALEXANDER – Wilma Louise DeBruhl Franklin, age 84 of Alexander died Sunday, February 28, 2016.
Mrs. Franklin was born June 20, 1931 in Buncombe County. She retired from A-B Emblem in 1997, after 29 years of service and was a member of Oak Ridge Baptist Church.
Preceding her in death are her parents, Murray and Ella Allman DeBruhl; grandmother, Belle DeBruhl, who raised Louise following her mother’s death when she was 16 months old; son, Dennis Franklin; brothers, Howard and Harrell DeBruhl; special cousin, Irene McKeever.
Surviving are her husband of 69 years Joseph R. Franklin; daughter, Sheila Marsh and husband Rick; sons, Ray Franklin and wife Janice, Stevie Joe Franklin and wife Shirley, Jeff Franklin and wife Sheri, daughter in law, Sandy Franklin; sister, Carolyn Gunter; cousin, Ellis DeBruhl, who she was raised with; 10 grandchildren and 21 great grandchildren.
Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Thursday, March 3, 2016, in Oak Ridge Missionary Baptist Church, 350 Flint Hill Rd., Alexander, NC 28701 with Reverend Larry Sprouse officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Wednesday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the services.
At other times, the family will be at the home of Sheila and Rick Marsh, 334 Flint Hill Rd., Alexander, NC 28701.
The family would like to extend a special appreciation to the Pulmonary Unit G-7 Section of Memorial Campus of Mission Hospital.
