Louise Maney Sawyer

LOUISE MANEY SAWYER WEAVERVILLE - Louise Maney Sawyer, age 87 formerly of 43 Moore Street passed away Thursday, November 19, 2015. Louise was born May 19, 1928 in Buncombe County to the late Talmadge Dewitt Maney and Maggie Tilman Williams Maney. She retired from Progress Energy in 1986 and was a member of Barnardsville United Methodist Church. Louise was an avid fan of the Atlanta Braves and George Strait. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by sister, Fayma Dillingham; and her husband of 45 years, Willard R. Sawyer who died in 1999. Surviving are her son, Alan W. Sawyer and wife Barbara of Barnardsville; sister, Pauline Watkins of Weaverville; brother, Ed Maney of Barnardsville. Also surviving are her dearly loved grandsons, Corey and Jeff Sawyer. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 22, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Worth Emory and Larry Coates officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 3:00 to 5:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the home of Alan and Barbara Sawyer, 8 Matt Maney Lane, Barnardsville.
