Lucia Eller Ruckman

SWANNANOA– Lucia Eller Ruckman, age 84, of Swannanoa, died Wednesday, December 19, 2007. Mrs. Ruckman was born October 17, 1923 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She retired from St. Joseph's Hospital as an operating room nurse. Lucia is the daughter of the late Jo Lucius and Ada Fox Eller. She was also preceded in death by her sister, Mavis Eller. Surviving is her husband of 50 years, Howard Ruckman; daughters, Linda Stevens and her husband, Michael of Chicago, Ill. and Tami Ruckman of Swannanoa; son Kris Ruckman and his wife, Tamara of Charlotte; granddaughter, Jamie McCorvey and two great grandchildren, Carson and Riley McCorvey. Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the Chapel of First Baptist Church, Asheville, of which she was a member, with the Rev. Dr. Guy Sayles officiating.
