LUCILLE HARRIS BURLESON
BARNARDSVILLE -Lucille Harris Burleson, age 82, of Martins Creek Road, died Tuesday, January 21, 2014 at Madison Health and Rehabilitation, where she had resided the last 5 years.
Mrs. Burleson was born September 14, 1931 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She and her late husband sang with The True Gospel Quartet and she also played the piano at North Black Mountain Baptist Church of which she was a member.
A daughter of the late Clennon and Eckles Allen Harris, she was also preceded in death by her husband, Herman Troy Burleson who died in 2001.
Surviving are her sons, Roger Burleson and wife Judy of Palm City, FL and Ray Burleson and wife Jan of Barnardsville; grandchildren, April McTaggart and husband Mike, Loren Burleson, and David Burleson and wife Ana and great grandchildren, Jonah, Kendall, Camryn and Camille, with her 5th one to be born in February.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, January 27, 2014 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Kenny Stump and Wesley Pike officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery, Barnardsville.
The family will receive friends 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Sunday at the funeral home.
