WEAVERVILLE—Lucille Herron Hyer, age 88, of 91 Lakeshore Dr., died Thursday, November 3, 2011.
Mrs. Hyer was born April 15, 1923, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a seamstress for Ivy's Department Store. Lucille was a precious wife, loving mother and grandmother. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wilbur David and Estie Elizabeth Ballard Herron; sister, Barbara Carson; and brothers, Lawrence and Marvin Herron.
Surviving are her husband of 71 years, Rev. Conley A. Hyer, Sr.; sons, Phil Hyer and wife Sharon of Weaverville, Tim Hyer and wife Aundria of Raleigh, and Conley Hyer, Jr., of Weaverville; granddaughters, Brandi Mullinax, Amber Hyer, and Caycee Hyer; step grandson, Shane Herren; and great grandchildren, Brittany, Gage, and Meghan.
Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, November 6, 2011, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Daniel Dockery, Bill Dockery, and Kenneth Huffman officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park; the Weaverville Police Dept. will serve as honorary pallbearers.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
At other times, the family will be at the residence.
