LULA HOLLAND PHILLIPS WEAVERVILLE - Lula Holland Phillips, age 94 died Friday, January 1, 2016. Mrs. Phillips was born April 18, 1921 in Madison County to the late Woodard H. and Amanda Buckner Holland. She was formerly employed at Hadley’s. She was also preceded in death by her husband Hiram Phillips who died in 1988. Surviving are her sons, Howard Phillips and wife Barbara of Knoxville, TN and Wendell Phillips and wife Henrietta of Weaverville; four grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, January 3, 2016 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Reverend Ray Kiess officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:00 Sunday prior to the funeral.
