Lyda Roberts McDaris

WEAVERVILLE –Lyda Roberts McDaris, age 79, of 7 Lula Cove Rd., passed away peacefully Wednesday, March 27, 2013. Lyda was born June 15, 1933, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She enjoyed yard work, canning and her family. She was a daughter of the late Hike and Esta Maney Roberts and wife of Roger Dean McDaris who died in 1992. Surviving are her daughters, Dianne Smith and husband Eddie of Raleigh, and Janice Brinkley and husband Robert of Asheville; son, Rodney McDaris and wife Kelly of Weaverville; sisters, Mary Banks of Weaverville and Grace McDaris and husband Donald of Greer, S.C.; grandchildren, Baylee and Rylee McDaris, Whitney Brinkley, and Brandon Smith. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Friday, March 29, 2013, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Jerry Jamerson officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home. At other times, the family will be at the residence.
