Lynn T. Moore

LYNN T. MOORE WEAVERVILLE – Lynn T. Moore, age 93, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, September 13, 2016. Mr. Moore was born January 28, 1923 in McKeesport, PA. He was retired from Verizon Telephone after being with various telephone companies for 41 years. A veteran of the U.S. Army, he served during World War II and Korea. Mr. Moore was a member of American Legion Post 2 and a 40 year member of the Lions Club. He was also a member of Weaverville United Methodist Church. His hobbies were playing golf, bowling and making footstools, of which he made a total of 574. He was the son of the late John L. and Estelle Swisher Moore. Also preceding him in death was his daughter, Valerie Sue Moore. Surviving are his wife of 72 years, Louise Taylor Moore; son, Larry D. Moore and wife Nellie; grandchildren, Michell and Bryan D. Moore all of Weaverville. Mr. Moore’s funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, September 16, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Dr. Keith Franklin officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends at the funeral home one hour prior to the service. Special thanks to Jeff and Courtney of CarePartners Hospice.
