WEAVERVILLE– Madeline Wright Cole, age 64, of Rice Cove Road, died Tuesday, January 15, 2008 unexpectedly at Mission Hospital after a brief illness.
Mrs. Cole was born May 22, 1943 in Buncombe County where she had lived all her life. She was a member of Mt. Sheba Baptist Church in Weaverville. Madeline will be deeply missed by her family and friends. She was the daughter of the late Carl Andrew and Alda Mae Duncan Wright. She was also preceded in death by her infant brother, Carl Jr. Wright; one sister, Alice Rice and two grandsons, Johnathan Daniel Cole and Alexander Davidson Cole.
Surviving is her husband of 43 years, James Roy Cole; two daughters, Katrina Lynn Gentry and husband Glenn of Weaverville and Kimberly Lane Hammaker and husband Jeff of Franklin; two sons; Mark Andrew Cole and wife Mandy of Charlotte and Daniel Wayne Cole and wife Teresa of Lewistown, Mont.; sisters, Ruby
Baynard and husband Ted and Adelaide Williamson both of Asheville; brother, Garland Wright of Candler and six grandchildren, Alyssa, Megan and Joseph Hammaker, Ethan and Turner Cole and Jacob Cole.
Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday in Mt. Sheba Baptist Church with the Rev.'s Steve Rhinehart and James Hutchinson officiating. Burial will be in Mt. Sheba Baptist Church Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue, Weaverville as well as at the church one hour prior to the funeral service.
At other times the family will be at the home.
In lieu of flowers, it is requested by the family donations be mailed to Roy Cole, 10 Rice Cove Road, Weaverville, NC 28787 to assist with medical expenses.
