Mae Ballard Bradley

WEAVERVILLE—Mae Ballard Bradley, age 91, of 98 Mundy Cove Rd., died Tuesday, July 24, 2012. Mrs. Bradley was born February 25, 1921, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She loved working in her vegetable and flower garden. She was preceded in death by her parents, William Dennis and Minnie Smith Ballard; husband, Horace E. Bradley who died in 1965; sisters, Beulah, Nola, and Elinor; and brothers, Clarence, Clyde, Burley, Will, Buren, and Jay. Surviving are her son, Douglas Bradley and wife Mary of Weaverville; sister, Myrtle Roberts of Weaverville; grandchildren, Russell Bradley and wife Jennifer, Mallisa Howard and husband Charles, Melanie Bradley, and Thomas Bradley; nine great grandchildren and one great great grandson. Mrs. Bradley's graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Friday, July 27, 2012, in Bradley Family Cemetery, with Rev. Darrell Roberts officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Thursday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. At other times, the family will be at the residence. Flowers are welcome.
