WEAVERVILLE – Mae Bell Moses, age 91, of Weaverville, went to be with the Lord on December 20, 2023.
Mrs. Moses was born on January 22, 1932, in Rutherford County, North Carolina. She lived most of her life in Buncombe County. She was the daughter of the late Wesley Tolley and Donnie Chapman Tolley. She is also preceded in death by her husband L. J. Moses; her brother, Jimmy Tolley; her sisters Anna Ball and Lucille Hutchinson.
Mrs. Moses was a homemaker. She loved her grandchildren, and she loved reading to them. She never met a stranger. She was a member of Faith Independent Baptist Church in Weaverville.
She is survived by her children, Terry Moses and wife Becky, Ken Moses and wife Connie, Carolyn Adams and husband Larry, Pam Dayton and husband Mike; grandchildren Todd, Jay, Courtney, Zack, Rusty, Ashley, Katie, and Sierra; and 12 great-grandchildren.
Mrs. Moses’ funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 22, 2023, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Reverend Larry Sprouse, Reverend Philip Wilson, and Reverend Robert Reynolds will officiate. Burial will follow at Ashelawn Gardens of Memory in Asheville. The family will receive friends from 1:15 p.m. until 2:15 p.m. on Friday, December 22 at the funeral home.
The family would like to thank Vickie Bowlin, Karen Hutchinson, and Stella Edwards for their special care and attention to Mom.
