Mae Searcy Williams

MAE SEARCY WILLIAMS ASHEVILLE—Mae Searcy Williams, age 91, of 50 Breckenridge Pkwy., died Wednesday, July 9, 2008. Mrs. Williams was born February 1, 1917 in Madison County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She was formerly employed at America Enka. Mae was a member of Cornerstone Church. She was the daughter of the late Frank P. and Kate Massey Searcy. She was also preceded in death by her husband, Curtis Jim Williams who died December 14, 2000, sisters, Beulah Wood and Clare McDaniel and brothers, David and Ray Searcy. Surviving are her sisters, Hazel Reese and husband Howard and Evelyn Searcy all of Weaverville; several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews. Funeral services will be Saturday at 3:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with the Rev. Jeffrey Hober officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 1:30 to 2:45 p.m. Saturday prior to the service. Flowers are acceptable and appreciated.
