WEAVERVILLE– Malcolm J. Sprinkle, age 78, of Jupiter Road, died Friday, December 08, 2017.
Malcolm was born November 13, 1939 in Buncombe County to the late Guy W. and Willie Mae Wilde Sprinkle. He was formerly employed with Winn Dixie and Sam’s Club. In his spare time, he enjoyed hunting and spending time in the great outdoors. Malcolm was a member of Locust Grove Baptist Church for most of his life. He is a veteran of the U.S. Army, serving during the Vietnam War while stationed in Germany.
Surviving are his wife of 56 years, Alice Parham Sprinkle; son, Brandon Sprinkle and wife Laura; daughter, Tonya Sprinkle Lawing and husband Michael; brother, Hoyt W. Sprinkle and wife Jean; grandchildren, who were the light of his life, Clint Sprinkle, Zeb Lawing, and Izzy Lawing.
His funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Monday December 11, 2017 in Locust Grove Baptist Church. Reverend Ben Whitmire will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery.
The family will receive friends 3:00 – 5:00 p.m. Sunday December 10, 2017 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Avenue Weaverville, where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the service.
