Maphra Sue Hensley

WOODFIN—Maphra Sue Hensley, age 85, of Woodfin died Tuesday, February 19, 2013. She was born September 11, 1927, in Yancey County and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. Maphra retired from American Enka Corporation. She was an active member of the Senior Meal Center at First Baptist Church, Weaverville. She was the daughter of the late K.M. Hensley and Lillie Hubbard Hensley. Surviving are her son, Steve Hensley and wife Rita O'Neil of Largo, Fla., and numerous extended family members. Her memorial service will be held at 10:45 a.m., Tuesday, February 26, 2013, in the Fellowship Hall of First Baptist Church, Weaverville, in conjunction with the Senior Meal Program. Mrs. Bo Hurst will officiate. Burial will be at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to: First Baptist Church, Senior Meal Center, PO Box 547, Weaverville, NC 28787.
