Margaret Abernathy Huntsinger, age 80, of Alexander went home to be with Jesus Christ her Lord on Friday, March 15, 2013.
Mrs. Huntsinger was born November 29, 1932 in Lenior and was a resident of Buncombe County for most of her life. She retired from Square D in 1987. Margaret attended Cedar Hill Baptist Church in Alexander. She was a daughter of the late Ivey Lee and Virgie Ann Honeycutt Abernathy and was also preceded in death by her brothers, Harold and Jack Abernathy; sisters, Doris Case, Mary Suttles, and Mildred Harris.
Surviving are her husband of 57 years Edward Huntsinger; daughter, Tanya Garrett of Alexander; son, Lee Huntsinger and wife Trish of Bostic; brothers, Eddie Abernathy and wife Norma of Louisville, KY and Gerald Abernathy of Birmingham, AL; granddaughter Stacey Garrett of Alexander and grandsons, Zachary Huntsinger and wife Rachal of Las Vegas, Tyler Garrett of Alexander and Kyle Mitchell of Bostic.
Services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 19, 2013 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with the Reverends Roy McPeters, Jack Gassaway and Mr. Don Harrison officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 6-7:30 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
