Margaret Evelyn Metcalf Wilson

WOODFIN—Margaret Evelyn Metcalf Wilson, age 91, of 2 Stratford Drive died Thursday, March 24, 2011. Mrs. Wilson was born January 20, 1920, in Buncombe County. She retired from Beacon Manufacturing Co. after 39 years of employment. She was a member of Ivy Hill Baptist Church. She was preceded in death by her parents, Wiley and Frances Allman Metcalf; husband, Carl Wilson who died in 1990; sons, Bruce Wilson and Roy Metcalf; brothers, James, Clayton, Edward and Richard Metcalf; sisters, Eugenia Whitt and Irene Buckner; and infant sister, Grace. Surviving are two daughters-in-law, Lillian Riddle and Linda Metcalf; her grandsons, Bruce Wilson and wife Jennifer, Vernon Metcalf and wife Tracy, David Metcalf and wife Lisa; granddaughter, Annette Stanley and husband James; 13 great grandchildren; 14 great great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, March 27, 2011, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Rev. Worth Emory officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory. The family will receive friends from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.
