WEAVERVILLE—Margaret Ann Vertucci Lasher, age 83, of 16 Sunset Drive, died Saturday, October 1, 2011.
Mrs. Lasher was born June 10, 1928 in Richfield Springs, NY and was a resident of Weaverville since 1966. She was active in and past president of the Weaverville Garden Club. She was a member of St. Eugene Catholic Church. Margaret was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. Her parents, Antonio and Elizabeth Famulare Vertucci preceded her in death as well as her husband, Henry Lasher, Sr. who died in 2004; her daughter, Margaret "Peggy" Lasher who died in 2002; and five sisters and two brothers.
Surviving are her sons, Rich Lasher and wife Jackie and Henry Lasher, Jr. and wife Barbara all of Mars Hill, Reese Lasher and wife Jan of Asheville, Ernie Lasher and wife Becky of Weaverville, and Mike Lasher and wife Teresa of Bahama, NC; sister, Theresa Oakes and husband Clifford of Richfield Springs, NY; brothers, Fred Vertucci and wife Joy also of Richfield Springs, NY and Jim Vertucci and wife Barbara of Stone Ridge, NY; grandchildren, Joe, Amy, Henry III "Ben", Tammy, Kelly, Mark, Jennifer, Jessica, Clint, Ryan, Stephen, John, Kate and Margaret Ann "Meggie" and great grandchildren, Molly, Joe Jr., Anna, Dylan, Nancy, Zoe, Olivia, Claire, Liam, Jordan, Lasher, Haven, Sophie, Luke, Charlie and Ellen.
Mrs. Lasher's funeral service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Tuesday, October 4, 2011 in St Eugene Catholic Church, 72 Culvern St., Asheville, NC 28804. Father Patrick Cahill and Deacon Mike Zboyovski will officiate. Inurnment will be in the church columbarium.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. on Monday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
