MARIE S. PHILLIPS WEAVERVILLE – Marie S. Phillips, age 79, of Weaverville died Thursday, December 8, 2016. Miss Phillips was born March 14, 1937 in Buncombe County to the late Paul C. and Geneva Robinson Phillips. She was formerly employed with Hadley Corporation and Just Ducky Originals. Marie was a loving mother, family member and friend. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sister, Doris Phillips; and brother, Fred Phillips. Surviving are her daughter, Sherry Phillips and husband Barry Jernigan; sisters, Judy Dendy, Wilma Carlisle and husband Everette; brothers, Edwin Phillips and wife Sharon, Robert Dale Phillips, Russell Phillips; along with several nieces and nephews. Her funeral service will be held at 6:00 p.m., Saturday, December 10, 2016, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverends Marjory and Ray Kiess officiating. A private burial will be in Clark’s Chapel Cemetery. The family will receive friends 4:30 to 5:30 p.m., Saturday at the funeral home.
