Marilyn Maxwell Clausen, age 85, of Weaverville, died Tuesday, September 5, 2017.
Mrs. Clausen was born September 12, 1931 in Fort Collins, CO.
She was a graduate of Colorado State University, an active member of Kappa Alpha Theta and a PEO member.
Mrs. Clausen was a homemaker and a school teacher, and previously lived in California, Charlotte, Edenton, and Hanover Park, Illinois before settling down in Weaverville for the last 22 years.
Her sense of humor and love of sweets and a glass or two of red wine made for many fun evenings with friends and family.
Preceding her in death were her husband Frederic Charles Clausen who died in 1996, and her parents, Col. John Maxwell (USA retired) and Mary Albers Maxwell.
Surviving are her son Frederic C. Clausen, Jr. (Jeanne) of Johns Island, SC, daughter, Caroline Peregrine (Roy) of Dekalb, IL; and son Captain John M. Clausen, (USN retired) (Caryn) of Coronado, CA; her brother, Major Jack Maxwell (USMC retired) of Peoria, AZ; and seven grandchildren.
A memorial graveside service will be held at 11:00 AM, Saturday, November 11, 2017 at West Memorial Park with Rev. Dr. Roger Weisner officiating.
