WEAVERVILLE/E. FLAT ROCK - Marjorie York White, age 87, of E. Flat Rock formerly of Weaverville died Thursday, March 5, 2015. Mrs. White was born July 18, 1927 in Transylvania County. Marjorie was formerly employed at the Education Department of the State of N.C. Vocational Education and later at Farm Bureau. She was the daughter of the late Paul and Ada Metcalfe York and wife of the late Lawrence White who died in 1992. Surviving are her son, Charles C. "CC" Wilde and wife Nicole of Canyon County, CA; step daughters; Elaine Wolfe of Arden and Lorraine Hodges of Charlotte; step son, Michael White of Dallas, TX; Niece, Sheila Bell; and nephew, Rick Sluder both of Weaverville. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Sunday, March 8, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Reverend Allen Rash officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends 1:00 to 2:30 p.m., Sunday prior to the service. Flowers are welcome.
