Marvin E. Hawkins

ASHEVILLE - Marvin Elliott Hawkins, 80, of Asheville passed away on Tuesday, July 11, 2023 at the Solace Center.

A native of Delphos, KS, he was the son of the late Clifton Elliott Hawkins and Edythe Ida Koeppean Hawkins. He was also preceded in death by his wife, Jane Hawkins, who passed away in March 2021.

Marvin was a veteran who served in the United States Navy. He worked as an electronics technician for IBM and retired after 43 years with the company. A hard working and dedicated man, Marvin also worked for Home Depot and retired in January 2022 with 23 years of service.

In his free time, he enjoyed golfing and spending time with his family.

He is survived by his son, Steven Hawkins (Sherry) of Prattville, AL; his daughter, Nikki Hawkins Lalick of Asheville; six grandchildren; and four great grandchildren.

In keeping with Marvin’s wishes, his family will hold private services.
