MARY ANNLYN EVERETTE HILL
BLACK MOUNTAIN – Mary Annlyn E. Hill, 90, of Black Mountain, passed away April 13, 2016, after a lengthy battle with Alzheimer’s.
Ann was born on July 3, 1925, in Lake City, FL, to the late William Lawty Everette and Edith Hudson Everette, both of Lake City. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, Jesse O’Neal Hill; of Lake City; a sister, Mrs. Virginia Marilan Hunter, also of Lake City; and brother, Edmund Brannon Everett of Indialantic, FL.
Mrs. Hill lived previously in Tampa, and Crystal River, FL; as well as Highlands, NC. Ann’s life was a full and happy one and centered around her family and friends. She supported her husband of 54 years and raised two successful sons. Ann enjoyed playing bridge while living in Tampa and began playing golf in Crystal River, FL in her mid-40s and developed into a pretty fair golfer with an 11 handicap at one time. Gardening was a life-long passion along with her church and church friends.
She is survived by two sons, Dorsey O’Neal Hill and wife Pamala C. Hill, of Asheville, and Patrick Everette Hill and wife Ruth K. Hill, of Peachtree City, GA. In addition, Ann had four grandchildren, Amy L. Hillegas and husband Nathan, of DeRidder, LA, Carrie A. Smith and husband Kyle, of Roswell, GA, Andrew O. Hill and wife Liz, of Locust Grove, VA, and Bryan P. Hill, of Newport, NC; six great grandchildren, Grace, Samuel, and William Hillegas, Virginia Smith, Charlotte and Amelia Hill.
A graveside service will be held at 11:30 a.m., Saturday, April 23, 2016, in Memorial Cemetery, Lake City, FL. Dees-Parrish Family Funeral Home will be assisting.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that you please consider a memorial to the Alzheimer’s Association in the memory of Mary Annlyn E. Hill.
