WEAVERVILLE—Mary Virginia "Ginger" Forester, age 68, of 43 Dogwood Dr., died Thursday, Oct. 29, 2009.
Ginger was born March 30, 1941, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She was a 1959 graduate of Lee Edwards High School. She married the love of her life April 9, 1963. Ginger was a long-time employee at Southern Bell Telephone and later worked at Burnette's Florist for several years and then at the hospital gift shop at the Memorial Campus. She was a member of N.C.N.G. Ladies Auxiliary and regularly attended North Asheville Baptist Church. She was the daughter of the late Floyd K. and Lucille Biddix Tesner. Ginger was a friend to many and gave freely to all.
Surviving are her husband of 47 years, Michael Forester; daughter, Michele Forester of Brevard; son, Michael Forester and wife Angie of Brevard; grandchildren, Ginny Reese, Gath Kennedy, Eddie Ramsey, and Eden Forester.
The funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m., Monday, November 2, 2009, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Jim Dykes and Jerry Jamerson officiating. Burial will be in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 to 3:00 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
