Mary Allen Green

ASHEVILLE – Mary Allen Green, age 78, passed away on Sunday, February 11, 2024 at Aston Park Health Care Center.

Mary was born October 26, 1945, to the late Fowler William Allen and Sarah Bell Carter Allen in Gainesville, Georgia.  In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her brother, Eddie Allen; father-in-law, Charles Green; mother-in-law, Lillian Green; and brother-in-law, Pierce Bennett.

Mary worked in telecommunications for Bellsouth, AT&T, and The Grove Park Inn. Mary loved to work in her garden and walk her dog Tiny with her good friend Julie.  She was a member of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.

Surviving are her husband, Gary Green; son, John Allen Green; granddaughter, Olivia; sisters, Betty Bennett, Evelyn Milford and husband Demp, and her twin sister, Martha Johnson; brothers, Grady Allen and wife Lana, Dan Allen and wife Bonnie, and Ricky Allen and wife Vicki; and sister-in-law, Denise.

Mary’s urn will be placed in the Maple columbarium at West Memorial Park by her family.  The family will receive friends at West Funeral Home on Thursday, February 22, 2024 from 1:15pm to 2:15pm.
