Mary W. Higgins

WEAVERVILLE - Mary W. Higgins, age 101, of Weaverville, went to her heavenly home, Thursday, March 12, 2015. Mrs. Higgins was born January 17, 1914 in Yancey County. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church in Weaverville and wife of the late Dewey A. Higgins who died in 1960. In addition to her husband she was preceded in death by a son, Ike Higgins. Surviving are her sons, Steve Higgins and wife Cora and Phil Higgins and wife Jane. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, March 16, 2015 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville with Reverend Al Harrell officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. The family will receive friends one hour prior to service at the funeral home.
