WEAVERVILLE—Mary Virginia "Ginger" Redmon, age 65, of 50 McCurry Road died Thursday, October 23, 2008.
Miss Redmon was born August 27, 1943 in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. She formerly was employed at Ball Brothers and Revco Scientific. She also worked as a beautician at The Beauty Barn. Ginger was a member of Salem United Methodist Church where she taught Sunday school for over 15 years and sang with the Harmonettes for many years. She was the daughter of the late Liston J. and Frances McCurry Redmon.
Surviving are her sisters, Jean Mullinax and husband David of Weaverville, Linda Haney and husband Rev. Dean Haney of Alexander and Brenda Pike and husband Danny of Weaverville; nephews, Darren Mullinax and wife Brandy, Duane Mullinax, Aaron Haney and wife Chelsey and Colby Pike; nieces, Dana Mullinax, Jamie Edmonds and husband Josh and Sarah Shelton and husband Matthew; great-nephew, Gage Mullinax; great-nieces, Brittany Mullinax, Megan Mullinax and Gracie Edmonds and many dear friends.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Sunday in Salem United Methodist Church with the Rev. Darrell Bowles officiating. Burial will be in West Memorial Park. Serving as pallbearers will be her nephews.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Saturday at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the services.
