MAX LUTHER MORGAN, SR.
LEICESTER - Max Luther Morgan, Sr., age 78, of 402 Dix Creek Two Road, died Thursday, May 15, 2014.
Mr. Morgan was born March 5, 1936, in Buncombe County and had been a resident of Leicester all of his life. He and his son started Morgan Welding in 1990 and he loved to farm and fox hunt. Max was a veteran of the Korean War while serving in the Marines. He was a son of the late Jesse Wade and Fleecie Hawkins Morgan.
Surviving are his son, Max Luther Morgan, Jr.; sisters, Shirley Gardner, Virginia Deas, Martha Liner and husband Ronnie, and Mary Roberts; brother, Bruce Morgan; two grandchildren, Ryan Luther Morgan, and Derick Tyler Morgan, two great grandchildren, Rylie Morgan, and Rylan Morgan; and close family friend, Lester Morrow.
His graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 17, 2014, at Corinth Baptist Church, Leicester, with Rev. Charles Phillips officiating.
Memorials in Max's honor may be made to Corinth Baptist Church, Leicester.
West Funeral Home in Weaverville is in charge of arrangements.
