MICHELLE BUCKNER MARS HILL – Michelle Buckner, age 26 of Mars Hill, passed away unexpectedly Monday, September 4, 2017 in Wilmington, NC. Michelle was born February 14, 1991 in Buncombe County. She was a graduate of Madison High School where she participated in the Junior ROTC program and was currently a student at UNC-Wilmington. Michelle was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Nolan Buckner and maternal grandparents, Harley and Wilma Jordan Waldrup. Surviving are her parents, James E. Buckner and stepmother, Crystal Maney Buckner of Weaverville and mother, Anna Waldrup Buckner of Marshall; sister, Amber N. Buckner of Marshall; paternal grandmother, Mary Candler Buckner of Hot Springs and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2017 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home with Rev.’s Troy Rogers and Josh Candler officiating. The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Friday, September 8, 2017 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville. Burial will be at a later date. Flowers are welcome.
