MIKE MATHEWS WEAVERVILLE - Mike Mathews, age 71 of Weaverville died Thursday, July 30, 2015 at John F. Keever Solace Center. Mr. Mathews was born November 11, 1943 in Concord, New Hampshire to the late Ernest Wesley and Gertrude Elizabeth Scott Mathews. He was a resident of Buncombe County for over 40 years. Mike was the owner and CEO of Concrete Coatings Concepts and Santin Gloss Wax Company. He served in the United States Army and was a member of Foster Memorial Seventh Day Adventist Church. Mike was a loving father and amazing friend. Surviving are his wife of 26 years Karen Parker Mathews; daughter, Andrea Mathews; sons, James Marc Mathews, Wesley Daniel Wade Mathews, Michael Blake Mathews; sisters, Shirley Dicks, Brenda Thomas; brothers, David Mathews, Roger Wade Mathews; and three grandchildren. His memorial service will be held at 2:00 p.m., Sunday, August 2, 2015, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Dr. Bill Bryan officiating.
