Mildred Elizabeth Parker Plemmons

WEAVERVILLE– Mildred Elizabeth Parker Plemmons, age 93, of Weaverville, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Friday, February 5, 2021.

Mrs. Plemmons was born September 1, 1927 in Buncombe County to the late Charles Mitchell and Myrtle Elizabeth Rhymer Parker; she had lived in Buncombe County all of her life. She graduated from Oakley High School. A member of Upper Walnut Creek Baptist Church, she was a very devoted minister’s wife. She was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. J.R. Plemmons to whom she was married 71 years; daughter, Gail Plemmons Hall; sister, Gladine Reneau and brother, Johnny Parker.

Survivors include daughter, Pat Plemmons Pressley and husband Richard of Weaverville; son, Wayne Plemmons and wife Joyce of Weaverville; son-in-law, Ronnie Hall of Florida; brother, Bill Parker and wife Evelyn; seven grandchildren, Richard Pressley, Jr and wife Kelly, Jan Braxton and husband Steve, Rodney Pressley, Roger Pressley and wife Kellie, Reneé Shelton and husband Davy, Taryn Ribblett and husband Phillip, Jason Hall and wife Laura; eighteen great-grandchildren, Rodney Pressley, Jr. and wife Heather, Austin Braxton and wife Kaity, Hayden Braxton, Logan Pressley and wife Marissa, Katelyn Shelton, Dylan Pressley and wife Rebecca, Brittany Parker and husband Nathan, Dakota Pressley, Elijah Shelton, Meredith Braxton, Riley Pressley, Conor Pressley, Brooke Pressley, Reid Pressley, Chloe Shelton, Jane Ribblett, Sofie Ribblett, Ayla Hall; and three great-great grandchildren, Parker Braxton, Easton Pressley and Abbey Grace Parker.

Her funeral service will be held 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 9, 2021 in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Rev.’s Roger Crawford and Davy Shelton will officiate. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park with Rev. J.D. Gipe officiating.

Per the NC Governor, masks are required. Those who choose, may listen to the service on their car radio by tuning into FM 87.7, while in the parking lot of the funeral home.

The family will receive friends 4:00 to 7:00 p.m., Monday, February 8, 2021 at West Funeral Home.

The family ask for your patience during visitation, as only 25 people may be gathered at one time.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105-9959.
