ASHEVILLE—Myrtle Minor Holden, age 90, died Monday, June 27, 2011, at her home.
Mrs. Holden was born March 20, 1921, in Vance County. She and her late husband, Charles Burr Holden, Jr., were founders of Sky View Memorial Park. She was a member of St. Paul's United Methodist Church. In addition to her husband, she was also preceded in death by her son-in-law, Charlie Barger.
Surviving are her daughter, Velma Ann Barger of Shelby; son, Allen Holden and wife Louise of Asheville; grandchildren, Charles Holden, Izzy Winterhart and husband Robin, Stephanie Dockery, Shane Barger, Brandi Barger; step grandchildren, Teresa Putnam and husband Ralph, Janet Keever and husband Jeff; great grandchild, Jasmine Dockery; and step great grandchildren, Adam and Anna Putnam.
Her graveside service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Wednesday, July 6, 2011, at Sky View Memorial Park, with Rev. In-Yong Lee officiating.
The family offers special thanks to Jeanette, Vicky and Brittney for their loving care of Myrtle.
