Nancy Shuford Shepherd

Nancy Shuford Shepherd, age 79, of Weaverville went to be with the Lord on Wednesday, February 5, 2025, at Solace Hospice Center.

Mrs. Shepherd was born on May 31, 1945, in Buncombe County where she had lived all of her life. Nancy loved her roses and her flowers outside in the yard. Dolly was her beloved Pomeranian along with Petra the chihuahua. She loved her grandchildren very much, and attended Trinity Baptist Church.

She is the daughter of the late Fred Lee and Frances Marjorie Mack Shuford and was also preceded in death by three sisters, Carolyn, Alice, and Glenda.

She is survived by her husband of 64 years, Furmon Shepherd; daughter, Sherry Buckner; son, Jesse Shepherd; grandchildren, Wes Buckner and Tim Buckner; five great grandchildren; and many cousins, nieces and nephews.

Her funeral service will be held at 2:30 pm on Friday, February 14, 2025, at the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave, Weaverville, NC 28787 with Reverends Larry Rogers and Allen Rash officiating. Visitation will be from 1:30 pm to 2:30pm. Burial will follow in West Memorial Park, Weaverville.
