NANCY BRINKLEY STEPHENS WEAVERVILLE – Nancy Brinkley Stephens, age 73, of Weaverville died Thursday, January 28, 2016. Mrs. Stephens was born September 24, 1942 in Buncombe County where she had lived most of her life. She was a dedicated and loving CNA for home health care. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob P. and Lola Juanita Smith Brinkley; brother, Jerry Brinkley; and sister, Doris Buckner. Surviving are her daughter, Susan Rice and husband Jerry; sister, Joyce Gosnell; brother; Larry Brinkley and wife Nellie. Also surviving are her grandchildren, who were the love of her life, Emily Hall and fiancé Cody Brooks, Haylee Rice; great grandson Carson Brooks; several nieces and nephews; and Amy, whom she loved like a daughter. The family will receive friends 6:00 to 8:00 p.m., Monday, February 1, 2016 at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville.
