Neil Huntsinger

Neil Huntsinger, age 77, of Asheville went to be with the Lord, Saturday, July 27, 2024.

Neil was born January 26, 1947, in Buncombe County to the late Harry and Bernice Honeycutt Huntsinger. He worked in route sales and management in the bread business; including Flowers Bakery and retired from Merita. He was an avid hunter and fisherman and loved the outdoors.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his 9-year-old son, Ray McNeil “Little Neil” Huntsinger, grandson, Timothy Parks and brother, Jerry Huntsinger.

Surviving is his wife of 53 years, Brenda Howell Huntsinger; daughters, Kim Penley (Victor), Tamara Zander and Tracy Elkins (Tommy); sister, Mary Presswood (Ronald); brothers, Grady Huntsinger (Vanessa) and Weldon Huntsinger (Donna); four grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

His funeral service will be held at 11:00 am on Tuesday, July 30, 2024, in Dillingham Presbyterian Church with Rev. Marc Penley officiating. Burial will follow in Ashelawn Gardens of Memory, Asheville.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Monday, July 29, 2024, at West Funeral Home where the body will remain until placed in the church one hour prior to the funeral.
