Nell Patton Holloway

NELL PATTON HOLLOWAY JUPITER - Nell Patton Holloway, age 97 formerly of Jupiter and Waynesville died Sunday, March 8, 2015. Nell was born April 22, 1917 in Buncombe County and had been a resident of Haywood County for most of her life. She was an LPN and retired from the VA Medical Center as an OR nurse. She later retired from Autumn Care of Waynesville as a medication nurse. Nell was known in her family for growing the most beautiful flowers; as the best cook and was well-known for her pound cakes. She was the daughter of the late Rome and Elizabeth Hunter Patton and was also preceded in death by her son, Ron Welch; daughter, Linda Fiore; brothers, Boyd, Cecil, Clyde and Carroll Patton; sister, Louise Davidson; step-daughter, Beverly Jo Covington and husband Richard and step-son, Larry Holloway. She is survived by her step-daughter, Anne Underwood and husband Robert Lee Underwood of Raleigh; sister, Doris Giezentaner of Woodfin; brother, Harold Patton and wife Carolyn of Jupiter; sisters-in-law, Betty Patton, Dorothy Patton and Bertha Patton all of Jupiter; son-in-law, Bill Fiore; grandchildren, Elisha Fiore, Christopher Welch and wife Jennifer, Dr. Missy Welch and husband Dr. James Wohl, Lori Sorensen, Heather Ashe, Taylor Underwood, Carla Tange and husband Matt and Francy Mann and husband Steve; eight great grandchildren with another one on the way. She was also loved by her many nieces and nephews. A service to celebrate Nell's life will be held April 22, 2015 at 2:00 p.m. in the Chapel of West Funeral Home. Burial will be in Jupiter Cemetery.
