Pam Leighton Banks

WEAVERVILLE—Pam Leighton Banks, age 50, of 477 Blackberry Inn Rd., died Thursday, August 26, 2010. Pam was born June 21, 1960, in Buncombe County and lived six years in Travelers Rest, SC, before returning to Buncombe County. She formerly worked at La'Tan and Electric Tan for several years. Pam was a former member of Cole's Cove Baptist Church. In her later years, she enjoyed living for the Lord and her family. She was the daughter of Rev. Bobby Leighton and Louella Fox Leighton of Weaverville. Surviving in addition to her parents are her sons, Jason Baker and wife Alicia and Tyler Banks, all of Weaverville; grandchildren, Jake, Cruise and Liz; and brother, Rev. Robby Leighton and wife Angela of Weaverville. Her funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m., Saturday, August 28, 2010, in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, with Revs. Bill Hall and Michael Baker officiating. Burial will be in Old Bull Creek Baptist Church Cemetery, Mars Hill. The family will receive friends from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m., Saturday prior to the service.
