Patricia Helen Aupied

WEAVERVILLE – Patricia Helen Aupied, age 90, of Weaverville passed away on Thursday, March 13, 2025, at Mission Hospital.

Mrs. Aupied was born on October 2, 1934, in Chicago, Illinois, daughter of the late Rudolph and Anna Elise Claus Schoemann. She was the wife of the late Robert Daniel Aupied who died in 2008 and was also preceded in death by her son, Steven Michael Aupied.

She worked for the New Orleans Racing Commission for 38 years and was a member of St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Mrs. Aupied was a bright light to her entire family and lit up every room she entered.

Surviving is her daughter, Suzanne Aupied Simonette and husband Nicholas Simonette, Sr.; grandchildren, Nicholas Simonette, Jr. (wife-Jo), Robert Simonette (wife-Nicole), Yvonne McCabe (husband-James), Michelle Henson (husband-Greg), Sarah Matthews (husband-Paul), Samantha Aupied-Seibert (husband-Michael); and great grandchildren, Parker, Taylor, Samantha, Aubrey, Brooke, Julian, Elaria, Eva, Logan, Blaze, Preston, Dylan and Blu.

Family will receive friends from 2:00 to 5:00 p.m., Tuesday, March 18, 2025, at West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC 28787.

Relatives and friends are invited to attend the Funeral Mass at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, March 24, 2025, at St. Jean Vianney Catholic Church, 16166 South Harrells Ferry Road in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. A Visitation will be held at the church beginning at 10:30 a.m., and interment and a reception will follow at Resthaven Gardens of Memory and Funeral Home located at 11817 Jefferson Hwy., Baton Rouge, LA 70816.
