Patricia Ann Rogers Rice

ASHEVILLE – Patricia Ann Rogers Rice (Pat), age 79, of Asheville, went to be with her Lord on February 18, 2018. She was born October 19, 1938 to the late Robert Noel Rogers, Sr. and Myra Edna Black Rogers. She and her four siblings grew up in the Flat Creek community of Buncombe County and were taught Godly values and the importance of loving and respecting one another, which continues to this day. Pat graduated from North Buncombe High School and attended Blanton’s Business College. She spent most of her working years at (Memorial) Mission Hospital and retired with more than 40 years of service. Surviving are her husband, Eldridge Rice, the absolute love of her life; one brother, Noel Rogers, Jr.; three sisters: Linda Banks and husband James, Glenda Roberts, Myra Hawkins; brother- and sister-in-love, Robert Rice, and Judy Rice Randall and husband Bobby; nephews: Sean Rogers, Brian Rogers, Jeffrey Roberts, Ben Hawkins; nieces: Kay Dinkins, Jennifer Banks, Michelle Rogers, Heather Noblitt and husband David, Angela Anderson and husband Chris, and Marsha Randall. Pat is also survived by 13 great-nieces and nephews. Her Memorial Service will be on Thursday, February 22, at 2:30 P.M. in the Chapel of West Funeral Home, 17 Merrimon Ave., Weaverville, NC. Reverend Allen Rash, Senior Associate Pastor at Trinity Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at West Memorial Park. Pallbearers are Ben Hawkins, Boyd Black, James Banks, Robert Rice, Bobby Randall, and Bruce Rice. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, February 21, from 5:00 - 7:00 P.M. at West Funeral Home. Flowers are welcome and appreciated.
